Hi Mike,
It's been a long time. I ran across your profile in a post from Steve Elmer, which reminded me that I'd had a dream recently about a time when we played basketball at Boltwood when we were in 6th grade. Weird, eh? In the dream, I had the ball, and someone was yelling "Pass it to the pro." Probably good advice.
What's going on in your life? Hope the years have been kind to you. After 44 years of being a psychology professor at Carnegie Mellon, I moved to Columbia University, where I completed my first year yesterday. The move was primarily so that my wife and I could live together (long story), but being in NYC isn't bad. If you get here, let me know, so we can get together.
Thanks, Steve. Yes, do let me know when you'll be here. Plenty to see, plenty to do. It would be great to catch up after all these years.

Sorry to hear about the open heart surgery, Steve, but glad to hear that your recovery seems to be going well. As the saying goes, old age is no place for sissies. Our lives seem to have run along pretty parallel paths. I also have three kids, each born two years earlier than the corresponding child in your family. I also became a professor and study children's learning. And I'm also among the few too dumb to move to a warm climate; I live in Pittsburgh half the year and in NYC the other half (my wife is a professor at Columbia, and due to the visitation agreement with her ex, she's tied to NYC for at least the next 5 years.) I think about retiring occasionally, but continue to enjoy what I'm doing, so I'll probably keep at it for awhile. In any case, hope you continue to recover nicely, and let me know if your travels take you to NYC or Pittsburgh.
All the best,
Bob
